  1. Just like Tangaroa we are responsible for our oceans!!!!!!! Our responsibilities of guardians of the ocean are: to enjoy and use oceans in a sustianable way so that future generations of people can also enjoy New Zealands oceans.We can enjoy our oceans by: Sunbathing, Surfing, Swimming, Sailing, Boogie Boarding, Paddle Boarding, Kayaking and the Weetbix Tryathlon but there is much more! For this we need to keep the ocean clean.

    We can also use our oceans by: Fishing for food and to make money in a sustainable way. And for this we need to make sure that the ocean stays clean and we do not overfish our ocean. Further more we can use our oceans for transport. But... Guess what...IN A SUSTAINABLE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For this we are responsible for not polluting and using safe ships. But perhaps that is a slightly different story.

  2. Last year my friends and I had a lemonade stand. we raised 20 dollars for Project Jonah. They help to save whales and Dolphins. They are guardians of the sea. I want to take a course for how to save Whales when I am older.

  3. How to be a guardian of the sea;
    * Keep the waterways clean by putting rubbish in the bin
    * Dispose of household waste sensibly eg. don't put oil or paint down the drain
    * Do our best to avoid climate change eg. turn off lights and eat less meat
    * When out fishing, stick to the rules

  5. We are the guardians of the the the sea because we pick up rubbish on the beach. Meadowbank is an enviro school. We even have enviro ferns which is a group of kids doing things to save the planet at are school. We painted our drains to remind everyone not to put plastic or poison in to them. The water from the drains go directly to the sea. Meadowbank students are being guardians of the sea.

    1. Why do you like you like sea creatures Olivia? Is it because they look so colourful or because they protect our ocean.

  7. we are the guardians of the sea because we pick up rubbish that is flying around and could end up in the sea.
    We want to keep our environment sustainable so we look after the sea by stopping plastic and rubbish go in the sea so we keep the sea creatures safe.

  10. To be a guardian of the sea you need to put your rubbish in the bin so it doesn't go down the drain and then go into the sea and animals eat it and die. The animals help the sea.
    Don't catch too many fish or fish that are too small to make sure they don't become extinct.

  12. There are many ways to look after the sea. One of the most important things everyone can do is to use less plastic products. Plastics ends up as rubbish in the ocean and ruins sea life homes and tangles up with the marine life. Throw away your rubbish properly and use less plastic!!

  13. A guardian is someone who keeps things safe. It means in relation to the sea, we are not polluting it. Then the fish be healthy and then we will get more fish to eat! You stop polluting the sea by not littering, and not leaving your wrappers and empty stuff by the beach. You put it in the rubbish bin.

  16. Kiwis love many things about the sea. Surfing, boating and fishing are some of the things we like to do. As guardians of the sea we need to be responsible. Have fun fishing but don't take to many fish.
