Week 6- Nina and Lucy
this week was our first week of swimming and it was awesome. For philosophy this week we watched a movie called Stone Soup which was about sharing and co-operation. This week it was the Year 2 assembly which was about Meadowbank super heroes and responsibility. We learnt about blue whales and got some interesting facts such as they are the biggest mammal on earth and they travel across the sea when the water gets cold. We learnt a Maori song about whales called Tohora Nui (link below). Today we watched an interesting video about a school in America that has a vegatarian cafeteria. We got our own profile for Kid Blog and have set a managing self goal. We tried a website called Into the Book where we practiced making connections. A nutritionist came to speak to us about school lunches, how to eat healthy and food effects our bodies. We also got a pee chart...gross! It shows us how much water we have absorbed and now we can tell when we are dehydrated. It was EOTC week for the year 5s we will get to do that next year. Yesterday we got our first notice about our trip, yay!
